Startup Brand Development.
Bolt is a startup where sustainability meets style, transforming shared rides into smart, fun, and eco-friendly journeys.
As Creative Director, I was approached by Bolt Shared Rides, a San Francisco-based startup with an ambitious vision. They aimed to redefine urban mobility with a focus on environmental friendliness, technological innovation, and user enjoyment. Their aspiration was to launch a brand that resonated with a modern, eco-conscious demographic.

The challenge was to create a brand identity for Bolt that was not only visually captivating but also encapsulated their core values: environmental responsibility, technological savvy, and the fun aspect of using electric scooters and bikes for city transportation. The brand needed to stand out in the competitive market of shared rides and appeal to a forward-thinking audience.
I developed the name “Bolt,” symbolising speed, electricity, and dynamism. The logo design emerged as a visual metaphor combining elements of a cycle, electric spark, and the sun – representing energy, movement, and sustainability. The brand identity extended to the design of charging stations equipped with smart screens, electric scooters and bikes, a user-friendly mobile app, and merchandise, all echoing the brand’s ethos. The color palette, typography, and visual elements were carefully chosen to reflect Bolt’s modern, eco-friendly, and fun personality.
The Bolt brand has successfully positioned itself as a trendsetter in shared urban mobility. The unique branding resonates with our target audience, encapsulating the essence of smart, sustainable, and enjoyable transportation. The comprehensive branding, from the logo to the app interface, has contributed to a cohesive and engaging user experience, making Bolt a go-to choice for environmentally conscious city dwellers.
