Combining tradition with Sustainability. Sourcing inspiration from Brazilian heritage.

Encompassing the charm and heritage of Trancoso at Hotel Taipa, a pioneer in hospitality, where Brazilian culture meets contemporary luxury.
Collaborating with Hotel Taipa in Trancoso, Brazil, offered a unique opportunity to delve into the cultural richness of Bahia. The hotel aimed to develop a brand identity that not only resonated with the historical essence of the region but also aligned with its sustainable values.

The challenge was to create a distinctive brand for Hotel Taipa that would stand out in the hospitality market while embracing the heritage and natural beauty of Trancoso and Bahia. The goal was to reflect the area's cultural depth and the hotel's commitment to sustainability in every aspect of the brand.

In crafting the brand identity for Hotel Taipa, I drew inspiration from the local heritage and the natural environment of Bahia. The colour palette featured earthy and natural tones, celebrating the region’s history of cacau farming and emphasising the hotel’s sustainability ethos. The brand's typeface was inspired by the lettering on the iconic Senhor Do Bonfim bracelets, a cultural symbol of the area. The name "Taipa" itself, inspired by the traditional fishermen houses known for their unique and colourful façades, encapsulated the essence of simplicity and authenticity that defines Bahia. The design aimed to create a brand that felt rooted in history yet perfectly placed in today’s hospitality scene.

The brand identity for Hotel Taipa successfully married Trancoso's cultural heritage with a modern and sustainable approach to hospitality. The design resonated with both history and contemporary luxury, offering guests an authentic Trancoso experience. The brand effectively captures the spirit of Bahia, inviting guests to enjoy a stay that is both luxurious and deeply connected to the local culture.
